I believe that homelessness is a solvable problem, and we need to move beyond the mindset of charity towards social justice. The solution cannot be found with a siloed approach; it requires social innovation that is more inclusive of those with lived experience and working in direct support service roles. I strive to be part of a system that works for all people, and I view compliance work as an important tool in advancing equitable policies and standards. My hobbies include kayaking in the backwaters and exploring neighborhoods for architectural gems (my favorite being Tudor Revival Homes).

I worked as a direct service provider and housing inspector for almost 6 years before coming to Hearth Connection, and I remain engaged in the community by participating on the board of a Minneapolis community service provider. Aside from work, I like cooking and building computers.

I have worked as a software developer and consultant for over 25 years with experience in government, non-profit, and Fortune 500 organizations. I have been the lead developer of Co-Pilot since its inception in 2003. Outside of work, I am a devoted father who enjoys all manner of arts and crafts including martial arts, cooking, gardening, and woodworking.

My role allows me to leverage my experience as a provider while centering my commitment to equity and my love for lifelong learning.
